Mandala and bookmark doodles

I attempted to 'grow' a peace mandala, and here it is:

I started at the centre, with a seed, and grew the design around that.

Then, I went on to do these, which are just doodles - but they are also called zentangles, and if you just Google that word, you will see lots of patterns and ideas for them.

These are all small - ideal as bookmarks, if I add a little ribbon - and I plan to give them away to friends.

  1. They are so detailed that it must take the patience of Job.

    Very interesting and pretty.

  2. Hahahaha! '...the patience of Job...' made me laugh out loud!!!

Yes, it does take patience - something I never had before, but seem to be developing now. You do the same thing, over and over again, and sometimes - because it is the natural thing to do - I find myself wanting to hurry up and finish something. Then, I pull-up-short and remember that there is no need to rush, no need to finish it quickly... because no one is waiting for it! Then, I slow down again, and just work on it.

Art for art's sake, eh? ;)

    I'm happy you like it.
